You can reach the absentee line at (908) 454-5000 and select option #1. Alternatively, you can send an email to the nurse atNurse@apsedu.org, or simply log into the parent portal. For those who may need assistance with the parent portal, here are the directions:
Step 1: Visit Apsedu.org and then select the Genesis Parent Portal link at the top right hand side and log in.
Step 2: Select Student Data – then Attendance – then Notify Office. ~ Select ‘Absent’ from the drop-down menu. ~ Select the date, the child, and leave a brief description of the reason for the absence: (ex. Sick, Personal). Keep the reason for absence brief! ~ Please note that your child’s teacher(s) will see the reason for the absence. ~ Click the green ‘Submit to Office’ button.
We appreciate your collaboration and support in keeping us updated on your child’s attendance. Your communication plays a vital role in helping us create a nurturing and productive learning atmosphere for every student.
The New Jersey state law requires a written statement from the physician when a student needs to take a prescription or over the counter medication during school hours. Medication orders are only effective for the current school year. Medications must be in the original prescription container labeled by the pharmacy or in the original over the counter container. All medication must be picked-up/dropped off by a parent/guardian ONLY. Students with asthma and other potentially life threatening illnesses are permitted to carry and self administer inhaled or injectable medication for the treatment and prevention of symptoms when deemed sufficiently responsible and properly educated by the physician and parent/guardian.
